Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the title of Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She was credited with launching contemporary research on the memory of children's eyewitnesses as well as the use of child victims in the court system. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded multiple grants, and received numerous International and national awards. She has advised numerous government bodies and administrations around the world about policies and studies related to way children are treated by the legal system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of numerous professional groups, such as The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division, American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
